ABOUT

My name is Ash Brooks and I am a writer, Vedic astrologer and musician from Brunswick, Maine. As a child, I was fascinated by space. One of my earliest memories is writing letters to the different planets (who all had their very own personality, in my eyes). I received my first astrology book as a gift when I was 9 years old and I have been studying the stars ever since. I began working as a tarot and astrology reader in 2013 and taught classes on astrology and karmic and esoteric branches of astrology. I started an online blog called Ash Wolf Astrology on tumblr back in 2013, which later migrated to blogspot and was then called the Planetary Observer. I kept this blog through 2016 and wrote daily and weekly forecasts and essays on astrology.

I hit a lull in 2016 and was no longer connecting to the information. I had been feeling this way for awhile; there was something about my astrological studies that was no longer resonating for me. It was around this time that I discovered Vedic astrology. It felt like a long-forgotten key to something greater. I spent the next year studying, and began Unclouded Eye as a forecast site in spring 2017. I come at Vedic astrology as a perpetual student, and attach my own blend of celestial folklore to it, along with my western astrological background. It is my goal to synthesize the teachings into something beneficial and scientific for all peoples of east and west, and to ground astrology as much as possible while still pushing it into great expanses. My aim is to break down the silly notions about astrological science and connect it back to the cosmos from which it came. I am always challenging myself to recognize and rise beyond my own belief systems. It is my hope that my work will bring us towards a harmonic understanding of nature that can still feel relevant in our personal lives.

The work I do comes from a place of joy, and I hope you will join me as we learn about the planets and stars together. The world is full of mysteries that we have yet to explore, or have forgotten about for many centuries. Let's go on a journey together, into space and into the deep reaches of our own consciousness.
